In
the middle of the night
(when they think they're out of sight)
they gather in the great halls of this land
to pass those bills they favor
that the public
doesn't savor,
and neither they nor you can understand.
Do
they think that we are blind?
(And in that I'm being kind,
for there are things much worse that I could
say.)
Are they ignorant or fools
to think they can break the rules
and keep their jobs come next Election Day?
